Dry and painful heels

Here are 5 simple and effective steps to treat dry and painful heels 👣

1️⃣ Soak Your Feet (10–15 minutes)

  • Use warm water (not hot).
  • Add Epsom salt or a mild soap.
  • This softens hard skin and reduces pain.

✔ Do this 3–4 times per week.

2️⃣ Gently Exfoliate

  • Use a pumice stone or foot file.
  • Gently rub thick skin after soaking.
  • Do NOT over-scrub (can cause more cracks).

✔ 2–3 times per week is enough.

3️⃣ Apply Deep Moisturizer

  • Use thick creams with:
    • Urea
    • Shea butter
    • Petroleum jelly
  • Apply generously before bed.

✔ For very dry heels, apply and wear cotton socks overnight.

4️⃣ Wear Proper Footwear

  • Avoid walking barefoot.
  • Wear shoes with heel cushioning.
  • Avoid open-back sandals if heels are cracked.

✔ This prevents worsening cracks.

5️⃣ Protect & Maintain

Moisturize daily.

Drink enough water.

If cracks bleed or are very painful, see a doctor.
